About us
We didn't set out to start an underwear brand. We set out to help a mate.
How DryBoxers came to be: who it's for, why it exists, and the promise we make to every man who wears a pair.

The mate who started cutting things short.
We met through golf about ten years ago, and became good friends over a lot of Saturday rounds. Late in 2023, one of the guys we played with every week started to change his routine. After prostate treatment he had light bladder leaks. He hardly ever mentioned it. We noticed it in other ways.
He'd skip the odd round, or stop after nine. He'd think twice about a long drive and check where the toilets were. He carried spare pads, and he left drinks earlier than he used to, sometimes because a pad had shifted, sometimes just in case. When we finally talked about it properly, he didn't ask for a better medical product. He said he just wanted something that felt like normal underwear.
The leak itself was manageable. Thinking about it all day was the bigger problem.

Everything we found came with a compromise.
In early 2024 we started looking properly: guards, disposable pads, pull-ups, reusable continence underwear and the leakproof boxer briefs already out there. Pads and guards move when you move, need positioning and replacing, and remind you all day that you're wearing protection. Pull-ups feel bulky and clinical. Plenty of the reusable options were padded, bulky or put protection ahead of fit and comfort.
None of it was something we'd want to wear to work, to dinner or out with friends. So we kept coming back to one question: why can't the protection simply be built into a genuinely good pair of boxer briefs?

Good underwear first. Protection built in.Marcus Bennett & Daniel Mercer, founders
So we set out to make a boxer brief we'd actually wear.
We partnered with a specialist underwear manufacturer with experience in technical fabrics and multi-layer garments. From the first samples in March 2024, we went through several rounds of changes: the fit, the pouch shape, the waistband, where the absorbent area sits, the feel and thickness of the fabric, and how it moves, washes and dries.
Adding absorbency was the easy part. Making you forget it's there was the hard part.
If we wouldn't happily wear it ourselves for a full day, it wasn't ready.

What we refused to compromise on
Four things every pair has to get right.
These were non-negotiable from the very first sample. They still are.
- 1Looks like normal boxersNo medical look and no bulky outline, under a suit, jeans or shorts.
- 2Protection built inThe protection is part of the pair, so there's no separate pad to position and nothing shifts.
- 3Comfortable all daySoft and wearable, made for normal everyday movement from morning to night.
- 4Wash, wear, repeatReusable and machine washable. Less waste, less cost, and no more stocking up at the chemist.
The road so far
From one problem to DryBoxers.
- Late 2023The problem becomes clearA close friend from our golf group starts changing his routine because of light leaks after prostate treatment.
- Early 2024The searchWe look properly at pads, guards, pull-ups and reusable protective underwear. We set our rule: start with a boxer brief we'd want to wear, then build the protection in.
- Mar–Apr 2024First samplesThe first concepts and physical samples, made with our specialist manufacturing partner.
- May–Aug 2024Tested, tweaked, tested againSeveral sample rounds on fit, fabric, absorbent-area placement, movement, washing and comfort, until it felt like normal underwear first.
- Oct 2024DryBoxers launchesAfter final adjustments in September, DryBoxers launches in Australia. Protection that doesn't make you feel like you're wearing protection.
- 2025 onwardListening and improvingWe keep refining based on customer feedback and what men tell us they need next.
Who we are
Small brand. Big promise.
DryBoxers is still small and independent. Here's what we're about, and where we're heading.
Small and independent.
No big corporate team and no shareholders to please. It's the two of us, working with specialist partners for manufacturing, fulfilment and product expertise. We stay closely involved in every product decision and read the feedback that comes in. We'd rather lose a sale than sell you something that isn't right for you.
Make leaks a non-event.
To give men discreet protection that looks and feels normal enough that they can stop organising their day around the possibility of a leak.
Nothing to whisper about.
Light bladder leaks are common, particularly as men get older or after prostate treatment. We want buying and wearing protective underwear to feel as ordinary as buying a new pair of socks.
A note from us
If you've read this far, this probably matters to you.
Maybe it's you. Maybe it's someone you care about. We won't pretend a pair of boxers fixes everything. But we built every pair around one idea: the less you have to think about your underwear, the better we've done our job.
The best protection is the kind you stop thinking about. So here's our promise: try DryBoxers with our 30-day money-back guarantee. If they're not right for you, email us and we'll sort it out. No awkward questions.
